During a conference on Prosperity and Security in Central America in Miami it became known that the Vice President will be touring Colombia -Cartagena and Bogota-, Buenos Aires, Santiago de Chile and Panama City on August 13-18.

    Clarin daily owner Ernestina Herrera de Noble dies at age 92

    Ernestina Herrera led a growing daily newspaper into becoming a media giant in Argentina.

    Ernestina Herrera de Noble, widow of Buenos Aires daily Clarin's founder Roberto Noble, died Wednesday in Buenos Aires, the newspaper's online edition announced. Herrera took over as publisher when her husband, who had started the business in 1945, passed away in 1969.

    Argentine President visits first Hercules completely remodeled in the country

    Pte. Macri (C) , escorted by the Defense Minister Julio Martínez and Air Force Chief-of-Staff Brigadier General Enrique Amrein among other high ranking military personnel.

    President Mauricio Macri visited the El Palomar Air Base, to inspect the first Hercules C-130 aircraft to undergo a modernisation process entirely in the country. During his tour of the base, Macri spoke with Air Force aviators who operate these aircraft in humanitarian missions worldwide.

    35th Anniversary of the Falkland Islands Conflict

    The Falkland Islands are a leader amongst UK Overseas Territories in self-governance, democracy, accountability and social development.

    June 14th 2017 marks the 35th anniversary of the surrender of Argentinean forces and the Liberation of the Falkland Islands. The date marks the end of the short but brutal conflict that lasted 74 days, following the Argentine invasion of April 2nd 1982.

    Argentina invites UK to resume Falklands question negotiations

    June 10, is the Day of Affirmation of Argentine Rights over the Malvinas, South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands and surrounding maritime spaces.

    Argentina has again invited the UK to resume negotiations on the Falklands/Malvinas question, following on UN assembly resolutions, and urges an end to unilateral activities related to exploration and exploitation of renewable and non renewable natural resources in the disputed area, as well as to the British military presence in the South Atlantic.

    Falklands: Red Cross exhumation of Argentine remains in three phases

    With 123 graves to be exhumed but 140 families waiting for news, the exhumation and identification of Argentine war dead in the Falklands will bring answers to some families, but not every family involved, Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and Operational Coordinator for the project to identify the remains of Argentine soldiers buried at Darwin Cemetery.

    Germany and Argentina voiced hopes Thursday for a free trade agreement between the European Union and Mercosur as German Chancellor Angela Merkel visited Buenos Aires. In talks with Argentine President Mauricio Macri, Merkel discussed bilateral commerce and efforts to strike a deal with the Mercosur grouping of South American countries.
