  S&P raised Argentina's credit rating to “B”, on the “verge of exiting recession”

  

  Standard & Poor's raised Argentina's credit rating one notch Tuesday, from B- to B, saying Latin America's third-largest economy was on the verge of exiting recession.The rating bump gives a boost to conservative President Mauricio Macri, who has launched sweeping - often unpopular - economic reforms aimed at reviving growth.

  Kirchner family prosecuted charged with money laundering; court seizes US$ 8.5m in assets

  

  An Argentine court on Tuesday prosecuted ex president Cristina Fernandez and her children, Maximo and Florencia, as alleged heads of an illicit organization to launder money in association with public works contractors. The ruling includes the seizure of family assets equivalent to US$ 8.5 million and handing over their passports.

  Torrential rains and mudslides destroy “80% of Comodoro Rivadavia”

  

  Comodoro Rivadavia, in Argentine Patagonia, also known as the “Oil capital” of the country is estimated to have experienced an “80% destruction” of the city, according to a first report from an Army engineers' battalion sent to set up bridges and repair highways. The city suffered a week of historic torrential rains (330mm) and strong winds with flooding, mudslides which swept away with bridges and tracts of roads and major highways.

  Macri mixed local politics in the Malvinas Fallen and Veterans Day anniversary

  

  Argentine president Mauricio Macri underlined that dialogue will facilitate the Malvinas sovereignty non-renounceable claim and ensure that it is really effective. The Argentine leader was addressing a delegation of Malvinas Fallen Relatives and Veterans, at the Olivos presidential residence on Sunday which marked the 35th anniversary of the beginning of the South Atlantic conflict in 1982.

  Bertone invites Falkland Islanders to become Tierra del Fuego citizens

  

  Tierra del Fuego governor Rosana Bertone called the Falkland Islanders “fueguinos” and invited them to integrate based on respect for “cultural diversity”. Ms Bertone was addressing the crowd on Sunday at the Malvinas Fallen monument in Ushuaia on Sunday, 35th anniversary of the Argentine military invasion of the Falklands and which according to the local calendar is the Malvinas Veterans and Fallen Day.
