  The International Maritime Organization, IMO on Friday sealed a deal that sets ambitious emissions-cutting targets. IMO agreed to cut total annual emissions of greenhouse gases “by at least 20%, striving for 30% by 2030” and “by at least 70%, striving for 80%, by 2040.”

  Amazon deforestation drops 33.6% in first semester of 2023

  The world's average temperature reached a new high on Monday 3 July, topping 17 degrees Celsius for the first time. US researchers said the new record was the highest in any instrumental record dating back to the end of the 19th century.
