  Falkland Islands RRS Sir David Attenborough has arrived to the Islands, and docked at East Cove, and is scheduled to leave for the Rothera Base on Saturday, beginning the Antarctica campaign.

  Next of kin of the only Argentine combatant buried in South Georgia visit his grave

  

  Forty years after the end of the South Atlantic conflict, the children of Argentine Navy NCO Felix Oscar Artuso were able to visit the grave of their father, the only Falklands combatant buried in South Georgia island.

  Falkland Islands detailed Consultation Report on Marine Managed Areas

  

  The unique marine environment of the Falkland Islands is important to our community, supporting our biodiversity and the economy of the Islands. The Falkland Islands Government ran a consultation from 23 March to 1 May to help us with our consideration of proposals for Marine Managed Areas (MMAs), which set aside areas for special protection. MMAs could play an important role in caring for and managing our marine environment for current and future generations.

  Argentina to release a “Malvinas 40th Anniversary Yearbook” on January 3 when Britain 'usurped' the Islands

  

  The Argentine foreign ministry is planning to release a Yearbook, on the 40th anniversary of the Falklands/Malvinas war, reporting on all the activities displayed both domestically and internationally, with the purpose of honoring all combatants and Veterans, plus emphasizing the “inalienable sovereignty rights of Argentina over the Islands, usurped by Britain in 1833”. The launching date will take place on 3rd January 2023.

  Brigadier Dan Duff, next head of Falklands based BFSAI

  

  The new Commander of the British Forces South Atlantic Islands (CBFSAI), Brigadier Dan Duff, is to be arriving in the Falklands in Spring 2023, replacing the current CBF, Commodore Jonathan Lett, who has been the CBF since November 2020.
