  Chinese Navy launches 10,000-tonne destroyer

  

  China's Navy Wednesday launched a new 10,000-tonne domestically designed and produced destroyer. The vessel, of the Type 055 class, is the first of a new generation of destroyers equipped with new air defense, anti-missile, anti-ship and anti-submarine weapons, and it is regarded as a challenge to naval rivals in Asia. The ship entered the water following a ceremony at Shanghai's Jiangnan Shipyard.

  FRIGATES SECURE THE SEAS FOR HMS QUEEN ELIZABETH ON MAIDEN SEA VOYAGE

  

  Two Royal Navy frigates have joined HMS Queen Elizabeth to secure the seas around the giant aircraft carrier as she embarks on her maiden sea trials. HMS Sutherland and HMS Iron Duke are escorting the Royal Navy's largest ever warship as she conducts vital system tests off the coast of Scotland today.

  David Davis wants PM May to stay in office during Brexit talks

  Falklands demining team have recovered over 3,000 anti-personnel mines and over 150 anti-tank mines.

  

  SINCE their deployment in October 2016 through to June 2017, the BACTEC teams have worked on 47 minefield areas from Fox Bay, Port Howard and Goose Green to the Stanley area. The team will now leave for three months before continuing the current phase.
