    Initiative in US Lower Chamber to recognize Gibraltar's right to self determination

    As on previous occasions, the latest version of the resolution was sponsored by Republican Congressman George Holding.

    A resolution calling on the House of Representatives, the lower chamber of the US Congress, to formally recognise Gibraltar’s right to self-determination has been tabled for a third time. The resolution states that the views and rights of Gibraltarians should always be imperative in any discussion of Gibraltar’s status as a British Overseas Territory.

    Spain supports deal for British expatriates to remain following Brexit

    Minister Jorge Toledo told The Times “We are broadly in favour of retaining a reciprocal agreement on questions like healthcare and freedom of movement.”

    Spain will support a Brexit deal that allows British expatriates to remain on the Costas with their benefits intact, including access to healthcare, it was reported. According to The Times, Madrid would “in principle” favour an agreement that would allow Britons living in Spain and other parts of the EU to retain existing rights.

    FIH Group independent Directors said such a deal “unwelcome” and “seriously threatens to undermine the FIC business and the interests of its employees”.

    The much publicized and controversial bid from an Argentine group to acquire a leading position in the Falkland Islands Holdings, which owns the Falkland Islands Company, closely linked to the Islands' history and economy, has been considered “a real hazard” by FIH directors.

    Another RAF Falklands/Sao Paulo flight “surprises” Argentine and Brazilian diplomacy

    An RAF transport aircraft last week allegedly made a two-day return trip to Sao Paulo from MPA in the Falkland Islands, according to a report from columnist Martin Dinatale, based on sources from the Argentine Defense ministry. The aircraft was an Airbus 330 which left MPA on Sunday 12 March at 22:44, and landed in Sao Paulo at 2:47 early Monday March 13. On 14 March at 23:47 the Airbus returned to the Falklands.

    UK £1bn export credit for British companies planning to trade with Argentina

    The British Government is re-introducing export credit financial support for UK businesses looking to trade with Argentina after an almost 20 year hiatus. The announcement was made in Buenos Aires as part of a visit to South America by International Trade Minister Greg Hands, covering Argentina, Brazil and Peru.

    Tony Blair insists Labour must work to remain in the EU
