  Falklands opens dock facility to support oil industry exploration beginning 2015

  Falklands' giant mural paying tribute to the Royal Navy painted by school in Hampshire

  

  Students from a Hampshire college in the UK have completed a giant mural paying tribute to the Royal Navy’s role in the Falklands Conflict. Twenty students from South Downs College at Waterlooville spent a week completing the 12ft square artwork on a wall in the Warrant Officers and Senior Rates Mess at HMS Excellent in Portsmouth.

  UK will not support World Bank loans to Argentina; British public opinion against such aid

  UK described recent combined military exercises in and around the Falkland Islands as part of regular routine training. The statement follows on Thursday's strong Argentine protest, (which claims sovereignty over the (Malvinas) Islands), and called the military exercises a “new provocation”.

  Falklands fourteen young footballers off to Chile for ‘South of the World Cup’

  

  Fourteen young footballers from the Falkland Islands will fly to Punta Arenas, Chile with their coaches on Saturday to take part in the Unifying Continents at the South of the World Cup.The Falklands is entering two teams in the tournament that also includes teams Colegio Aleman, Colegio Cruz del Sur, Colegio Britanico, Leumag, and two teams from Club Deportivo Victoria.
