Falklands' visitors, “highly satisfied” according to TripAdvisor

Highly satisfied is how visitors to the Falkland Islands feel according to the Falkland Islands Tourist Board’s (FITB) annual assessment of TripAdvisor ratings. Executive Director of FITB Stephanie Middleton told Penguin News that there were over 4,300 ratings of accommodation, attractions, pubs, restaurants and tours in the Falklands on TripAdvisor, with 800 of those posted over the last 12 months.

Students from a rural school helped identify an Argentine combatant buried in the Falklands

A project led by students at a rural school in San Luis de Palmar, the Argentine province of Corrientes, helped identify the remains of a fallen combatant during the South Atlantic conflict: Ramón Cirilo Blanco, according to researchers at the Universidad Nacional del Nordeste (UNNE).

Falklands' Caracara “Louie” prank: it again escapes from London Zoo, but two days later was back

A bird of prey, a caracara from the Falkland Islands escaped London Zoo for the second time in 18 months on Sunday, soaring out of the grounds during a meet the animals show for families. The striated caracara named “Louie”, sparked a search of nearby Regent’s Park which left picnickers stunned by the sight of zookeepers waving around a dead rat on a stick in an attempt to coax it back.

Falklands: another Argentine combatant remains identified

Another Argentine combatant fallen during the 1982 South Atlantic conflict and buried in the Falkland Islands, has been identified, which brings the number of those still without a name to nine out of a total of 122 graves.
