  Falklands Association concerned about political events in UK and Argentina

  

  The local sub-committee of the Falkland Islands Association which has in various forms defended Falklands' interests since 1968, has sent out an email to all its members asking them “to give a rough outline of how they view the current political situation together with any ideas or fears they may have for the future and anything they would like to see the FIA doing on their behalf.”

  Argentina awarded permits to begin hydrocarbon exploration in 18 areas off the coast of the Buenos Aires province, the Austral basin and the Malvinas West basin, which neighbors with the Falkland Islands, the insular territory claimed by Argentina.

  Premier Oil finances improving and so are Falklands' Sea Lion project prospects

  

  Britain’s Premier Oil increased its 2019 production guidance on Thursday, saying output had been boosted by efficiency measures and a late sale from its now-divested Pakistan oil fields. The company said it now expects output to reach 75,000 to 80,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed) this year, from up to 75,000 boed previously.

  The Argentine Army Chief of Staff said he perceives a greater recognition from society towards Malvinas veterans, and this recognition, with time, is increasing. Lieutenant General Claudio Pasqualini made the statement at Wednesday's traditional meeting of the Buenos Aires Rotary Club, which on this occasion had another special guest at his table, British ambassador Mark Kent.
