  HMS Protector with ensign at half mast in Buenos Aires to honor ARA San Juan and its crew

  

  The Royal Navy Ice Patrol HMS Protector arrived on Sunday morning to Buenos Aires port with her ensign at half mast in recognition to the discovery of the lost Argentine submarine ARA San Juan and to honor the lives to its 44 crew. ARA San Juan went missing in the extreme South Atlantic of Argentina on 15 November 2017, while sailing from Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego to its base in Mar del Plata.

  Appearance of ARA San Juan: Royal Navy crew paid their respects

  

  A year after the disappearance of the Argentine Navy’s submarine ARA San Juan, the crew of HMS Clyde, one of the British ships that participated in the search operation, yesterday showed their respects in an act of remembrance from the Falkland Islands. The act was given hours before the Ministry of Defense and the Argentine Navy confirmed that the Norwegian ship Seabed Constructor made the discovery.

  Number of Argentine soldiers buried in the Falklands and fully indentified now totals 103

  

  Argentina has announced the identification of combatant 103 whose remains are buried in the Falkland Islands and after 36 years will have a gravestone with his full name, at the Argentine military cemetery in Darwin, Victor Rodriguez.

  Premier Oil confident in reducing debt; begins drilling in Mexico

  

  Premier Oil said it expected full-year production to come in at the low end of a previously announced 80,000 to 85,000 barrels per day range.   Falklands' patrol HMS Clyde visits South Georgia on fishery protection

  

  The Falkland Islands patrol ship HMS Clyde is on her usual patrol area during the austral summer which is South Georgia, 700 miles away.   Visiting FA Representative XI beats Falklands team and a British Forces XI side

  

  An England Football Association Representative XI played a Falkland Islands team and a British Forces XI over the weekend. The match against the Falklands' team on Saturday saw the FA side win 3-1 with the team captained by Mitchell Parker. Both matches were played at the Stanley Community School field.

  Combatant buried in the Falklands is taken back by the family to Argentina

  

  Next 5 December for the first time in 36 years the remains of an Argentine combatant buried in the Falkland Islands will be returned to the province of Córdoba where his family lives. Air Force Captain Luis Darío José Castagnari remains lie in a grave at the Argentine military cemetery in Darwin, and in a special ceremony, with members of his family, will be flown back to Argentina.

  Navy withheld British minisub offer to find ARA San Juan, Argentine Defense Minister Oscar Aguad admits

  

  Argentina last year chose to turn down a British offer of a minisub to search submarine ARA San Juan, it was reported Sunday. The then Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Marcelo Srur failed to convey the British offer December 5 last to Defense Minister Oscar Aguad, who confirmed the reports, according to the Buenos Aires daily Clarin.

  The Falkland Islands' Gilbert House has announced the following arrangements for Sunday 11 November 2018, Remembrance Sunday to take place in Stanley. The Annual Service of Remembrance, this year commemorating the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War, will be held in Christ Church Cathedral commencing at 9.30 am.
