  Falklands' offshore license relinquished by Noble Energy and Edison

  

  Oil companies Noble Energy and Edison have decided to relinquish their stakes in the PL001 offshore license in the Falkland Islands according to Offshore Energy Today. Argos Resources had held a 100% in the PL001 block before the two companies’ farm-in back in 2015. Argos’ shares fell 30% following the announcement.

  Four FPSO planned for the Falklands by 2025, according to oil industry reports

  

  The latest report from Global Data, FPSO Industry Outlook, suggests that a total of 74 planned and announced floating production, storage, and offloading units (FPSOs) are expected to start operations globally by 2025. Globally, South America leads with 32 planned and announced FPSO additions by 2025, including four in the Falkland Islands, followed by Africa and Europe with 17 and seven FPSOs, respectively.

  Argentina names 100th combatant buried in the Falklands; two graves mystery

  

  Argentina's Human Rights Secretary announced on Tuesday the full name of the 100th combatant fallen during the 1982 South Atlantic conflict and whose remains are buried at the Argentine military cemetery in the Falkland Islands, where for over 36 years they remained unidentified with only a white cross and a black marble tombstone reading, “Argentine soldier, only known to God”.

  Two more Argentine conscripts fallen during the Falklands' conflict have names

  

  The remains of two more Argentine conscripts who lost their lives during the 1982 South Atlantic conflict and are buried at the Argentine military cemetery in the Falkland Islands have been identified, according to the Human Rights Secretariat Office in Buenos Aires. This brings the total number of identified soldiers, previously only marked as “Argentine soldier, only known to God”, to 99.

  Falklands considers preliminary studies into developing salmon farming

  

  The Executive Council of the Falkland Islands discussed a proposal to consider salmon farming in the Falklands. The proposal sought authorisation for Government officers to negotiate a Letter of Intent with the Danish company, Pisco ApS, to evaluate whether conditions in the Islands would be adequate to support the development of salmon fish farming.
