  Falklands' capital Stanley granted city status as part of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations

  Scotland withdraws consent to any further Brexit legislation until “devolution system is fixed”

  

  Holyrood will not give consent to any further Brexit legislation until the “broken” devolution system is fixed, Scotland's Brexit Minister has said. Michael Russell added the Scottish government no longer trusted UK ministers after they pushed through the Brexit bill last week. He was speaking as Nicola Sturgeon held talks in Guernsey with UK Cabinet Minister David Lidington.

  UK OTs address oceans and plastic pollution at Council of Environment Ministers

  

  Ministers and senior officials from UK Overseas Territories (OTs) and Crown Dependencies (CDs) travelled to the Isle of Man last week to discuss the future of the environment in their jurisdictions. This was the third Council of Environment Ministers of UK Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies and took place in Douglas, on 6th and 7th February. Previous meetings took place in Gibraltar in 2015 and continued in Alderney in 2017.

  Liverpool will commemorate the centenary of the sinking of the Lusitania

  

  About 1,200 people died and 771 survived when the British liner was torpedoed by a German submarine on 7 May 1915 during World War One. One of the largest ships in the world, it was sailing from New York to its home port of Liverpool when it was sunk off the coast of Ireland.
