  Argentine President Alberto Fernández is to visit the Marambio Base in Antarctica in a move to ratify the country's “bicontinental” stance, it was reported in Casa Rosada. Fernández's trip will be the fourth visit of an Argentine head of state to Antarctica.

  Malvinas to be returned to Argentina soon, says Argentine Defense Minister

  

  Argentine Defense Minister Jorge Taiana said the Malvinas Islands were to be restored “sooner rather than later... to its legitimate owners.” He made those remarks to veterans from the 1982 war attending the reopening of the Air Force's Base in Rìo Gallegos, from where converted training IA-63 Pampa III jets with fighting capabilities will “monitor and control” the South Atlantic enclave. The unit had not had combat aircraft since 1996.

  Argentina wants to buy Brazilian armored vehicles

  Argentina's Defense Minister Jorge Taiana Thursday demanded once again that Great Britain agrees to discuss the Malvinas/Falklands issue and insisted that the latter's reluctance to do so was a “lack of respect for international law.” Taiana also argued that “the powerful should not use force to impose their interests.”
