
The Falkland Islands’ Legislative Assembly said it has begun its “early work” for the new term and will focus in coming weeks on finalising the 2026/27 budget, reviewing the capital programme and addressing stalled projects, according to an official statement issued on January 21.

The Falkland Islands elected Legislative Assembly has agreed a revised portfolio system for the 2025-2029 term. Following the December 2025 General Election, Members reviewed the structure to improve focus, and align related policy areas.

The Office of the elected Falkland Islands Legislative Assembly has formally relocated to Sulivan House on Ross Road, Stanley. Gilbert House is no longer in use for Assembly business. The Legislative Assembly thanks all involved in the process of moving offices, and making Sulivan House ready for use for the new Assembly.

The Falkland Islands newly elected Legislative Assembly held its first sitting Monday 15th December following the General Election on the 11th of December.
