An Argentine former naval pilot and Malvinas veteran who recently visited the Falkland Islands came out in support of Argentine ambassador in London Carlos Sersale di Cerisiano, who has been strongly criticized and summoned by his country's congress for having referred to Falklands/Malvinas government as the Islands' “top authorities”.

Falklands attended the IAATO annual conference in United States

Falkland Islands tourism ambassadors Steph Middleton and Carli Sudder are returning from the United States after attending this year’s International Association of Antarctic Tour Operators (IAATO) conference in Newport, Rhode Island. Steph Middleton is Executive Director of the Falkland Islands Tourist Board, while Carl Sudder is Tourism Coordinator at Sulivan Shipping and Chair of the Falklands Travel Association.

Falklands' parade on 21st April to celebrate Queen's birthday

The Falkland Islands will be holding a parade to celebrate the birthday of the Queen at Victory Green on Saturday 21st April 2018. The parade will form up at Victory Green at 10.20 hours and Governor Nigel Phillips CBE will arrive at 10.30 hours.

Falklands confirms appointment of Chief of Police

The Falkland Islands government, FIG, announced on 16 January the permanent appointment of Jeff McMahon as Chief of Police within the Royal Falkland Islands Police (RFIP). Mr. McMahon arrived in the Falkland Islands in May 2017 and was promoted to Detective Chief Inspector in July.
