    Argentina sells US$ 9bn in bonds, “at the lowest yields in the country's history”

    Argentina sold US$ 9 billion in a three-part dollar bond issuance that was oversubscribed on Thursday, covering nearly a third of its expected financing needs for 2018 early in the year. Latin America’s third largest economy sold US$1.75 billion in five-year bonds at a yield of 4.625%, US$ 4.25 billion of 10-year bonds at 6% and US$3 billion in 30-year bonds at 7%, the ministry said. It said the yields were the lowest in Argentina’s history.

    Mysterious death of at least 88 grey dolphins on the coast of Rio do Janeiro state

    According to the local Brazilian media Al Dia News, it's the worst mass death of the dolphin this decade, newshub.co reports.

    Environmentalists in Brazil say they are trying to figure out why more than 80 gray dolphins have died in less than a month on the coast of Rio de Janeiro state. A statement from the Gray Dolphin Institute says the dolphins died over past 17 days in the Bay of Sepetiba, a coastal district about 70 kilometers west of Rio de Janeiro. The institute is an NGO that monitors and strives to protect the dolphins.

    Falklands new Chief of Justice has very close links with the Islands

    James Lewis QC commented that he was very much looking forward “to taking up the appointment of Chief Justice and getting to know the Falkland Islands”

    On instructions from the Secretary of State, His Excellency the Governor has formally appointed Mr James Lewis QC as the Honorable the Chief Justice of the Falkland Islands. Mr Lewis was officially sworn in by the Governor at a ceremony held at Government House on Thursday 4 January.
