    Uruguay expects some 200 cruise calls this 2019/20 season

    Uruguay is expecting some 200 cruise calls this 2019/20 season, which is 30% higher than in 2018/19, while Montevideo has become an exchange port for incoming and outgoing cruise passengers, given its good services and connectivity, announced Tourism minister Liliam Kechichian during the official launching of the current season.

    Google data center project in Uruguay under way

    Google is involved in Uruguay's telecommunications since 2012, having already made Antel a majir player in the region.

    Google plans to build a data centre for storage and server management within Uruguay's Science Park in the Canelones area, it was announced. It will be Google's second such facility in Latin America, the other one being in Chile.

    The first ever Argentine low cost airline has carried more than 700,000 passengers, of whom more than 100,000 were first-timers.

    Argentine budget airline Flybondi will go international starting December 17 with a flight between El Palomar in the Greater Buenos Aires area and the Paraguayan capital Asunción. Three days later it will commence serving Punta del Este from El Palomar and also from Córdoba.
