The Falkland Islands Government have announced that Cartesian Ltd have recently been appointed to carry out a strategic review of Telecommunications Provision in the Falklands Islands. Cartesian will be starting work on the review immediately, with the first draft report due on 24th December.
The elected government of the Falkland Islands has strongly refuted remarks by Argentine official 'Malvinas Secretary' Daniel Filmus, published in The Guardian, in which he states that hydrocarbons activities in the Falklands are environmentally reckless, and describes Filmus words as “yet another example of the Argentine's government futile efforts to damage the Falklands economy”

The European Commission announced on Thursday that the Falkland Islands has been allocated a sum of 5.9million Euros to support economic development activities between 2014 and 2020.
