  Brazil expects to pocket some US$ 1.45 billion from the sixth round of oil and gas block licensing for the pre-salt zone offshore. Reuters reports, citing the special secretary to the Economy Ministry, Waldery Rodriguez, that the total minimum sum of signing bonuses for all the blocks that will be tendered on November 7th is US$ 1.9 billion.

  Petrobras strikes further discovery at giant pre-salt Libra field in Santos basin

  

  Petrobras announced a further hydrocarbon discovery at the giant pre-salt Libra field in the Santos basin, offshore Brazil. The company said that well 3-BRSA-1310-RJS, in the central portion of the block, identified the presence of hydrocarbons in a low-porosity reservoir. This is the fourth well drilled in the Libra area since exploratory drilling began last August.

  BG announces first oil with FPSO vessel, 240kms off Rio de Janeiro coast

  

  BG Group announced first oil from the Cidade de Itaguaí floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, the sixth unit to start production across the group's discoveries in the Santos Basin, offshore Brazil. The FPSO will produce from the Iracema North area of the Lula field in the Petrobras-operated BM-S-11 block.

  Petrobras production from pre-salt fields reaches milestone 800.000 bpd

  

  Brazil’s Petrobras said that oil production in Santos and Campos basin pre-salt fields reached a milestone production volume of 800Mbbl/d. The volume was recorded on April 11, with 74% (590Mbbl/d) Petrobras’ share with the remainder belonging to partner companies working in different pre-salt areas.

  Petrobras announced a new oil output record in Brazil, during September with an average of 2.23 million barrels of oil per day (bpd) production in the country, including in this total the fields operated by the state-owned company for its partners. The volume is 0.3% higher than breaks August record.
