    Falklands will be making their case before the UN C24 this week

    The Falkland Islands and Argentina will be making their case on Thursday in New York before the United Nations Special Decolonization Committee, or C24, an annual event where the Islanders demand recognition of their right to self determination, as clearly expressed in the UN charter for all peoples of the world.

    “Kiss chain” in support of Remain, and a vote of love for tolerance and unity

    “A vote for Remain is a vote for love, tolerance and unity in our diversity,” commented Alice Jay, Avaaz campaign director in a statement.

    A long line of people kissed each other outside parliament in London on Sunday in a show of love to urge Britain to remain in the European Union.Campaigners said that over 420 people had taken part in the “kiss chain” in London, as other mass kissing events took place in Berlin, Paris and Rome.

    France wants strong immediate action from European Council if UK votes Leave

    “You are in or out... The EU Council should give the British an ultimatum about their intentions, and France’s president will be very clear about that,” Macron said

    French economy minister Emmanuel Macron said on Saturday the EU should act quickly and firmly if Britain votes next week to leave the European Union. Britain’s EU referendum will be held on Thursday, with an EU summit set for a few days later on June 28 at which Macron said EU leaders should take a firm stand with regard to the UK.

    Malcorra will present the Malvinas case before C24 next Thursday

    In New York Malcorra will attend the C24 annual session representing Argentina, when Falklands lawmakers will also be making their position

    Argentine foreign minister Susana Malcorra will be absent from the debate on the Venezuelan situation scheduled for next Thursday in Washington, since that same day she will be attending the UN Special Decolonization Committee when the Falklands/Malvinas issue is to be addressed.

    Thursday's “Stronger in Europe” rally at Gibraltar at which UK Prime Minister David Cameron was due to speak, was cancelled at the last minute after Labour MP Jo Cox was shot and stabbed in an attack in West Yorkshire. The news of the fatal attack came shortly after Cameron arrived t the Rock.

    Labor Remain MP killed in north England; Brexit campaign suspended

    Colleagues expressed their shock and disbelief at the death of Cox, a Cambridge University graduate who had spent a decade working for aid agency Oxfam

    A British member of Parliament died on Thursday after she was shot and stabbed in a “horrific” assault in her constituency, police have said. Jo Cox, Labour MP for Batley and Spen, north England, was left bleeding on the ground after the attack in Birstall, West Yorkshire. A man was arrested nearby. One eyewitness was reported stating that her attacker shout “put Britain first” at least twice beforehand.

    Falklands will receive a visit from the International Red Cross

    The Argentine Memorial in Darwin which holds the remains of Argentine combatants from the 1982 South Atlantic conflict

    A four person delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) will be visiting the Falkland Islands from 27 June to 2 July, as part of the humanitarian mission to help identify the mortal remains of unnamed Argentine combatants buried at the Argentine memorial in Darwin.

    Malcorra thanks OAS for continued support to Argentina on the Falklands/Malvinas dispute

    Malcorra recalled that the lack of a solution to the situation for so many years, “has been an obstacle for the full development of bilateral relations”, between the two countries.

    Foreign minister Susana Malcorra reiterated Argentina's call to OAS state members to continue supporting the resumption of negotiations on the Falklands/Malvinas question. A controversy which she said, “involves the whole southern hemisphere”.
