Punta Arenas will host IAATO’s 24th annual meeting in April next year

The International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators (IAATO) announced on Wednesday that Punta Arenas, Chile would be the site of its 24th Annual Meeting. The meeting is scheduled for April 22-24, 2013.

Argentina rapidly becoming too expensive for foreign tourists

Argentina is rapidly becoming an expensive country for tourists and evidence of this is the declining number of tourists arriving in the country in the first months of the year while the number of Argentine travelling overseas is soaring, according to Mario Lielman, chair of the Buenos Aires Tourism and Travel Agencies Association.

UAE flag carrier unveiled plans to fly to Brazil in January 2013

Etihad Airways, United Arab Emirates flag carrier has unveiled plans to fly to Brazil, the airline’s first South American destination. The daily Sao Paulo flights, which are expected to start in June 2013, will be the first direct air link between Abu Dhabi and any South American country.

Falklands’ expects 20% boost in UK visitors because of the war’s 30th anniversary
