  Japan's Mitsui Lines takes charge of re-gasifying unit project in Uruguay

  

  Japan's Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. announced on Wednesday that the company has reached a basic agreement with Gas Sayago, a joint venture between Uruguay’s state oil company ANCAP and state power company UTE, to continue the floating storage and re-gasification unit (FSRU) project led by Gas Sayago and being built in Montevideo.

  The Globe with Shakespeare's “Much ado about nothing”, in Chile, Uruguay and Brazil

  

  Thanks to an alliance between the British Embassy and Corpartes, renowned British theatre company The Globe will present William Shakespeare’s ‘Much ado about nothing’ at the Centro de las Artes 660 / CA660 in Santiago de Chile. The play will be on stage from 9 to 11 October, sponsored by the British government’s GREAT Campaign.

  Uruguay and Argentina ban hake and squid captures in shared waters

  

  The Joint Technical Commission for the Maritime Front (CTMFM) announced a ban on hake (Merluccius hubbsi) and squid (Illex argentinus) capture in the Common Fishing Zone of Uruguay and Argentina as of Thursday October first.

  Uruguay pumps greenbacks to keep the US dollar rate on sliding stability

  

  Uruguay's central bank was forced to sell almost 65 million dollars on Tuesday, the highest volume so far this year, to keep the US dollar from ballooning as fears of the collapse of the Brazilian economy are felt through the region. The dollar finally ended trading with a slight 0.12% increase at 28,826 Pesos to the greenback.

  The British Pavilion at the Expo Prado 2015: Best in Show

  

  More than 75,000 people visited the British Pavilion at the Expo Prado 2015 -the largest agro-industrial exhibition in Uruguay. The Pavilion was awarded first prize in the category “Best Embassy and Chamber of Commerce Pavilion” by the Uruguayan Rural Association, organisers of the Expo.

  Falklands stall at the Prado rural show “a great surprise and greater success”

  

  The UK GREAT pavilion at Uruguay's main agri-business exhibition in Montevideo received the top prize for its category while a stall from the Falkland Islands, tended to by Islanders, is estimated to have been visited by 10% of the more than half million visitors that attended the week-long Expo-Prado.

  Falklands: “thank you” to the people of Uruguay for being so warm, welcoming and supportive

  

  A business delegation from the Falkland Islands participated in Uruguay's main agri-business show at the Prado grounds with a stall in the British GREAT pavilion. The week attendance was described as 'surprising and successful' and Falklands lawmaker Gavin Short addressed an open letter thanking all those involved in helping with the Islands' presence.
