FAO Food Price Index dipped in October pushed by dairy, meat and vegetable oils

International food commodity prices dipped in October, as falling dairy, meat and vegetable oils prices more than offset a surge in sugar prices, the United Nations said. The FAO Food Price Index, a measure of the monthly change in international prices of a basket of food commodities, averaged 163.5 points in October, down 0.9 percent from September and 7.4 percent below its level a year earlier.

The then Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Marcelo Srur failed to convey the British offer December 5 last to Defense Minister Oscar Aguad, who confirmed the reports, according to the Buenos Aires daily Clarin.

Argentina's central bank almost doubles currency swap with China

Chilean ex Army chief convicted for complicity in death of 15 people during Pinochet's regime

A Chilean judge on Friday convicted the country's former army chief for complicity in the deaths of 15 people during the early days of Augusto Pinochet's military regime.
