    Three governors reelected in Argentina

    Melella was reelected as governor of Tierra del Fuego

    The governors of the Argentine provinces of La Pampa, Salta, and Tierra del Fuego were reelected Sunday. Meanwhile and following a Federal Supreme Court ruling, San Juan and Tucumán had to postpone their gubernatorial elections, but the former voted for local authorities anyway, while the latter adjourned the process altogether.

    Taking into account that most British Overseas Territories have sent representatives to London for the several days celebration of King Charles III Coronation, the Joint Ministerial Council which brings together UK Ministers and elected leaders of the OTs, will be taking place this week, May 11/12.

    Falkland Development Corp. was voted in at the organization's recent annual meeting in Hamburg

    The International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators welcomed five provisional operators and eight associates. Bunker One A/S, Freestyle Adventure Travel, South America Shipping, UnWild Planet Travel and Polar Tourism Guides Association were approved by IAATO members during an inter-session vote at the end of 2022 while Avila Reizen, Falkland Islands Development Corp. and Summit Aviation were voted in at the organization's recent annual meeting in Hamburg.

    Falkland Islands joins in historic coronation celebrations of King Charles III

    The Falkland Islands marked the occasion with events that involved the whole community, including tea parties and activities for the younger members

    Falkland Islands, a British Overseas Territory, joined in the celebrations of the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty Queen Camilla on Saturday. The Islands were represented by a group of individuals who took part in the festivities in London, including Members of the Falkland Islands Defence Force, DC Helen Taylor from the Royal Falkland Islands Police, MLA Teslyn Barkman, Her Excellency The Governor, Alison Blake CMG, and Falkland Islands Representative, Richard Hyslop.

    Canadian company JHI to explore for oil and gas in Falklands' waters

    Oil and gas exploration company Argos Resources is set to sell its sole asset, the PL 001 production license in the North Falkland Islands, which is estimated to hold around 3 billion barrels of oil, to JHI. After completing the transaction, Argos plans to seek to delist from AIM and wind up the company.

    Latam: no turning back on higher air fares to Punta Arenas, “ample competition”

    Chile's National Economic Prosecution threw out a request to begin an investigation into the hike of air travel to Punta Arenas, decided by Latam Airlines. “It is highly unlikely to verify a conduct of excessive prices taking into account the many verification standards of such an incompetitiveness crime”, points out the resolution.
