  UK declares state of emergency in several Caribbean Overseas Territories hit by hurricane Irma

  

  A state of emergency has been declared in a British Overseas Territory hit by Hurricane Irma. British Virgin Islands governor Gus Jaspert said there were reports of casualties and fatalities, and help had been requested from the UK. He said radio and other communication channels were extremely limited.

  Falklands' legislation database to be provided by Australian Tech Company

  

  Government-focused services provider, Leidos Australia, has won an export deal with the Falkland Islands Government for the provision of technology solutions based on its TeraText suite of products. Under the new deal, all the laws of the Falklands will, for the first time, be made available to the public, using the Australian-built technology.

  The first seagoing Captain of the Royal Navy’s second new aircraft carrier, HMS Prince of Wales, will be Captain Stephen Moorhouse. The announcement was made at an event at the Institute of Directors in London just two days before the warship is officially named in Rosyth.
