  British experts guest speakers in Chile’s sixth version of the Futures Congress

  

  Seven prominent British figures representing different areas of science, including economics and social communications, were present at the Futures Congress organized by the Chilean Senate in Santiago. Gathering each year experts from different areas of knowledge to discuss the challenges that human kind will be facing in the future, this event has become the most important scientific conference in Latin America.

  Chilean mining minister inaugurated the British Pavilion at Expomin 2016 in Santiago.

  

  Chilean President Michelle Bachelet and Mining Minister Aurora Williams officially inaugurated Expomin 2016. During her tour through the exhibition, Minister Williams visited the British pavilion, joined by Ambassador Fiona Clouder and UKTI Director Trevor Hines.

  The Globe with Shakespeare's “Much ado about nothing”, in Chile, Uruguay and Brazil

  

  Thanks to an alliance between the British Embassy and Corpartes, renowned British theatre company The Globe will present William Shakespeare’s ‘Much ado about nothing’ at the Centro de las Artes 660 / CA660 in Santiago de Chile. The play will be on stage from 9 to 11 October, sponsored by the British government’s GREAT Campaign.

  Chilean universities establish closer links with their UK counterparts

  

  A group of the main Chilean universities travelled to the United Kingdom on an invitation from UK Universities, with the purpose of deepening links and greater opportunities for collaboration in areas such as research and innovation. This was a follow up mission to the 12 British universities that visited Chile last year to establish links with their counterparts.

  A Chilean delegation representing the city of Antofagasta visited the UK to explore energy efficiency best practices and new technologies. The visit was an essential component of the “Action Plan for the city of Antofagasta´s Sustainable Energy Strategy” project that the British Embassy Santiago is currently supporting through the Prosperity Fund.
