Falkland Islanders and their supporters met in London on the 13th of June for the annual Liberation Day Reception. This time it was special - it marked the 35th anniversary of the war. Guest of honour was Sir Alan Duncan, just re-appointed as Foreign Office Minister with responsibility for the Falklands; this was his first outside engagement.
Four members of the UK Parliament are visiting the Islands Guests of the Falkland Islands Government; they are accompanied by Falkland Islands Government Representative in London Sukey Cameron MBE. Members of Parliament are regularly invited to the Falkland Islands by FIG.
Lady Haskard has sent a message from former Falkland Islands governor Sir Cosmo Haskard thanking the Falklands people and lawmakers for the gift of the painting of Government House for his 100th birthday (November 25). The message was received by Sukey Cameron, MBE, Falklands' government representative in London and stated the following:
Brexit campaigners have hit out at former foreign secretary William Hague after he claimed the Falkland Islands could fall to Argentina if the UK votes to quit the EU. In comments rubbished as scaremongering by Leave campaigners, Mr. Hague warned of an uncertain future for Falkland Islanders.

Representatives from the Falkland Islands will be attending the Overseas Territories Joint Ministerial Council 2015, JMC, in London on the 1-2 December. The fourth meeting of the Overseas Territories Joint Ministerial Council (JMC) will be held at Lancaster House and will be hosted by FCO Minister for the Overseas Territories James Duddridge MP.
