No progress has been reported by Wednesday afternoon in the search for the missing Chilean Air Force (FACh) Lockheed C-130 Hercules transport aircraft with which all radio contact was lost at 6.13 p.m. Monday.
Chile Day in London will take place on 6-7 September; it was announced at an event in the British embassy in Santiago de Chile. The initiative has grown steadily since its year of inception in 2011 and “this year promises to be a new focus, at an important time for both our countries”, said ambassador Fiona Clouder.
Mr Jamie Bowden CMG OBE MVO has been appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Chile in succession to Ms Fiona Clouder. Mr Bowden will take up his appointment in June 2018.
Foreign Office minister for Europe and the Americas Sir Alan Duncan represented the UK in the inauguration of the new president of Chile, Sebastian Piñera. Minister Duncan arrived in Santiago on Saturday and part of his agenda is to discuss the future of UK-Chile bilateral relations with the incoming administration.
