    Falklands announces program to mark liberation anniversary from Argentine occupation

    At 11.00 am a ceremony will be held at the Liberation Monument, and after  prayers Governor Colin Roberts will lay a wreath.

    The Falkland Islands will be marking the anniversary of the liberation of the Islands from Argentine occupation with a vast program scheduled for Sunday 14, June, 2015, in the capital Stanley.<
    The program includes a religious service, a ceremony at Liberation Monument and later a reception hosted by Falkland Islands governor Colin Roberts. MLA Ian Hansen will be presented with the South Atlantic Medal on behalf of all Islanders.

    Falklands will celebrate Queen's birthday parade April 21st

    Also in attendance will be representatives of the Legislative Assembly and the Falkland Islands Government. There will be a fly-past at approximately 10.45.

    On Tuesday 21 April the Falkland Islands will be holding a parade to celebrate the birthday of Queen Elizabeth. Contingents from the Royal Navy, Army, Royal Air Force and the Falklands' Defense Force will form at Stanley's Victory Green, reports Gilbert House, seat of the Falklands' elected Legislative Assembly.

    Falklands Battle Centenary Memorial Wall unveiling and Act of Remembrance

    A parade led by the Band of Royal Marines Plymouth will march to the Battle Memorial for the Act of Remembrance and later several wreaths will be laid

    Gilbert House, seat of the Falkland Islands elected government has released the program arranged for Monday 8th December 2014 to commemorate the victory of the Naval engagements of 8th December 1914, on which day 6 British sailors lost their lives and a number of others died later from injuries received during the battle. 2,260 German sailors also lost their lives.

    Falklands to mark liberation from Argentine occupation on Saturday 14 June

    Following a thanksgiving service at the Cathedral, there will be a ceremony and wreath laying at the Liberation Monument

    To mark the anniversary of the liberation of the Falkland Islands from Argentine occupation in 1982, a program of activities has been arranged for Saturday 14 June 2014, beginning with a Thanksgiving Service to be held at Christ Church Cathedral commencing at 9.45 am, according to a release from Gilbert House.

    Falklands new governor arrives in April; farewell ceremony for Gov. Haywood

    Governor Haywood leaves this month after over three years in the post

    Next Tuesday February 25th the Falkland Islands governor Nigel Haywood and Mrs. Haywood will be returning to London at the end of tour of duty. In April Colin Roberts CVO will take his appointment as Governor of the Falklands and Commissioner of South Georgia and South Sandwich. Governor Haywood took office in October 2010.

    Falkland Islands' legislators elect three MLAs to the Executive Council

    The first formal meeting of the newly elected Legislative Assembly was held on Monday morning in Stanley and it was confirmed that last Friday, following the election result the newly elected members of the Legislative Assembly met to discuss and distribute portfolio responsibilities.

    Falkland Islands commemorates Remembrance Day on Sunday

    Falkland Islands will be holding the annual Service of Remembrance on Sunday 10 November at Christ Church Cathedral. Governor Neil Haywood, Commander British Forces, Members of the Legislative Assembly, visiting and resident South Atlantic veterans, together with Senior Officers of the Armed Services will be attending the Service.

    PM Cameron and PM Rajoy agreed that Gibraltar issues could not become an obstacle in the bilateral relations

    The Falkland Islands sent on Wednesday a support message to Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and the people of Gibraltar which is under strong pressure and threats from Spain over border crossings while from London it was reported that PM David Cameron called Spanish PM Mariano Rajoy to raise concerns about the escalation of the situation.

    Falklands send condolences to family and friends of Admiral Sir Sandy Woodward

    In a brief message Gilbert House, seat of the Falkland Islands Legislative Assembly made public its condolences to the family and friends of Admiral Sir Sandy Woodward who was commander of the carrier force sent to recover the Falklands invaded and occupied by Argentine forces.
