  Argentina blockading the Falklands with “no respect for Islanders human rights”

  

  The Falklands Chamber of Commerce claims that Argentina has in effect imposed a sea-blockade of the civilian population of the Falklands with no respect whatsoever for the human rights of the Falkland Islanders, while at the same time it cynically promotes commitment to human rights on the world stage.

  Construction slump in Punta Arenas lifts unemployment to 6%

  

  Unemployment in the extreme south of Chile, Magallanes Region, increased for the second mobile quarter running and now stands at 6% with construction industry receiving the heaviest blow, according to the latest release from the regional Statistics Office, INE.

  Punta Arenas in the extreme south of Chile and seat of the country’s Antarctic Institute will have a new complex that will include the Institute’s offices, research laboratories and a museum dedicated to Chile’s strong and long presence in Antarctica.

  Eight Chilean students and a lady teacher from Punta Areas public school system will be travelling on Saturday to the Falkland Islands for a three week English practice course.

  Korean Jigger Operating in Falklands’ Waters to be Broken Up in Punta Arenas

  

  Chilean authorities in the extreme south of the country have decided to deny port access in Punta Arenas to a Korean flagged jigger which arrived from the Falkland Islands having suffered extensive damage following a fire in the engine room. Her fate seems to be breaking her up.
