Sargassum seaweed, 'greatest single threat to the Caribbean tourism industry'

It would take at least US$120 million and more than 100,000 people to clean up the Sargassum seaweed that has created “an international crisis” and “the greatest single threat” to the Caribbean, according to Vice Chancellor of the University of the West Indies (UWI) Sir Hilary Beckles.

Uruguay says Brazil rejects idea of leaving Mercosur, but agrees that deep changes are urgent

CARICOM tells Venezuela it supports Guyana's integrity in territorial dispute

Venezuela’s vice-president Jorge Arreaza recently heard directly from CARICOM chairman, Barbados’ Prime Minister Freundel Stuart, that the regional grouping is backing Guyana in the territorial dispute between the two South American neighbors.
