  Brexit debate in the streets of London: tens of thousands march for, and against leaving the EU

  

  Tens of thousands of people have marched on Saturday in central London to demand a final vote on any UK exit deal, on the second anniversary of the Brexit vote. Organizers of the People's Vote march say Brexit is “not a done deal” and people must “make their voices heard”. Meanwhile, hundreds attended a pro-Brexit counter-protest. It came as senior Cabinet ministers, including Liam Fox and David Davis, insisted the UK is prepared to walk away from talks without an agreement.

  Scotland withdraws consent to any further Brexit legislation until “devolution system is fixed”

  

  Holyrood will not give consent to any further Brexit legislation until the “broken” devolution system is fixed, Scotland's Brexit Minister has said. Michael Russell added the Scottish government no longer trusted UK ministers after they pushed through the Brexit bill last week. He was speaking as Nicola Sturgeon held talks in Guernsey with UK Cabinet Minister David Lidington.

  BMW joins Airbus in calling for clarity in Brexit negotiations

  

  Car giant BMW has followed plane-maker Airbus in warning about the consequences of Brexit uncertainty. BMW UK boss Ian Robertson says clarity is needed by the end of the summer. BMW makes the Mini and Rolls Royce and employs about 8,000 people in the UK.

  Unequivocal EU support for Dublin: no Brexit deal without agreement on the Irish border

  

  European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker has warned the UK there will be no Brexit deal without agreement on the Irish border. On a visit to Dublin, Mr Juncker said fellow EU member states would not let Ireland be “isolated” on the impasse, insisting the demand for a resolution was a Europe-wide demand.

  Airbus warns UK on Brexit and “its severe negative consequences”

  

  Airbus has warned it could leave the UK if the country exits the European Union single market and customs union without a transition deal. The European plane maker said the warning was not part of “project fear, but its dawning reality”. Airbus employs about 14,000 people at 25 different sites in the UK.

  First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has said she is “proud” of SNP MSPs who staged a mass walkout of the House of Commons in a row over the EU Withdrawal Bill. The MPs acted after the party's leader at Westminster Ian Bralckford was thrown out of the chambler by the Speaker. The row was prompted by a “lack of debate” on what Mr Blackford said was a “power grab” by the UK government.

  Theresa May contains Brexit defeat with last minute concessions to pro-EU Tories

  

  Theresa May has seen off a potential defeat over her flagship Brexit bill, after last-minute concessions which could give MPs a bigger say on the final withdrawal agreement and make a “no-deal” exit much less likely. MPs voted by 324 to 298 to reject a House of Lords amendment to the EU Withdrawal Bill which would have given MPs the power to tell the Prime Minister to go back and renegotiate the Brexit deal.
