British submariners have been recognized for their efforts to help Argentina find missing sub San Juan. It is vital that Falkland Islanders express their thoughts on the laws and principles that protect their rights. MLA Edwards said the deadline for submitting written evidence to the Select Committee, regarding the Constitutional Review, has been extended to the 31st of August.
Uruguayan lawmaker Jaime Trobo, a good friend of the Falklands' people and who visited the Islands in several occasions died this week at the age of 62 after a long battle with cancer. Trobo was first elected a Montevideo Councillor for the National Party in 1984, when Uruguay emerged from eleven years of military dictatorship.

Oil and gas exploration firm Rockhopper Exploration, with interests in the Falklands and preparing to advance with the Sea Lion project, has agreed to sell its assets in Egypt to United Oil & Gas in a US$ 16m deal. The sale of Rockhopper Egypt includes a non-operated 22% interest in the Abu Sennan concession onshore Egypt and the existing assets of the business.
The elected government of the Falkland Islands reported on Friday that the Scientific Sub Committee of the South Atlantic Fisheries Commission met in Buenos Aires on 17 and 18 July 2019. The SAFC was first established in 1990 and this was the third meeting to take place since the reestablishment of regular meetings in 2018.
