Argentine opposition lawmakers presented December’s consumer inflation index based in the analysis of nine private agencies, which showed a 1.9% increase over the previous month and totalling 22.81% for the twelve months of 2011, roughly double the official index.
Argentine lawmakers announced Monday the so-called Congressional ‘inflation index” for October which they estimated at 1.49% and is well over double the official Indec index released last week, 0.6%.
A group of Argentine opposition lawmakers presented Monday the August inflation rate, based on reports prepared by some private consultants. The dissident index reached to 1.87%. In July the index was 1.62%
Inflation in Argentina reached 0.7% in May compared to the volume reported in the previous month, the Indec national statistics bureau announced on Wednesday. The official rate is less than half what was presented on Tuesday by opposition lawmakers, which they assured reached 1.5% and 23% in the last twelve months.
