  Red Cross ready to supply humanitarian aid to Venezuela, apparently negotiated with Maduro's regime

  

  The International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies said on Friday it was prepared to channel humanitarian aid to Venezuela through an operation that could be similar to one in Syria, potentially helping ease chronic hunger and disease in the South American nation. President Nicolas Maduro in February blocked efforts by political opponents to bring US-backed aid into the country across its borders with neighboring Colombia and Brazil, and has denied the country is suffering a humanitarian crisis.

  Colombia: The humanitarian situation worsened, alerted Red Cross

  

  The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) presented on Thursday the balance of its main humanitarian concerns in Colombia, highlighting a deterioration of security conditions in the most remote areas of the country.   Red Cross: Rising humanitarian needs among Venezuelans entering Colombia

  

  The Colombian Red Cross Society have been working for more than a year to support people arriving in Colombia and travelling through the country. Aid workers are warning of rising vulnerabilities among people crossing the Colombian-Venezuelan border and “are calling on the international community to increase support for humanitarian efforts”, said a statement published by International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) at Geneva.

  Falklands to meet Red Cross in Geneva on DNA identification of Argentine combatants buried in Darwin

  

  The Falklands government announced on Friday that MLA Mike Summers will be attending a meeting in Geneva, chaired by the Red Cross to forward agreements for DNA identification of Argentine combatants buried in Darwin. A follow up meeting in London for the signing of the agreements is scheduled, which will also include MLA Phyl Rendell, and to advance in other issues related to the September UK/Argentina joint statement referred to additional flights and fisheries scientific data exchange.

  Falklands/Malvinas soldiers' remains: Argentine delegation meets Red Cross chief

  

  Argentina's Foreign Ministry Secretary for Malvinas affairs Ambassador Daniel Filmus, and Argentine ambassador before international organizations in Geneva, Alberto D'Alotto, met on Thursday with the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Peter Maurer, to address the issue of identifying the remains of 123 soldiers Argentine fallen during the South Atlantic conflict in 1982 and buried in the Argentine cemetery at Darwin, in the Falkland Islands.

  Falklands lawmaker meets Red Cross chief to discuss identification of Argentine soldiers remains
