Seven percent more Britons traveled to Argentina this year

The flow of British tourists into Argentina until August this year recorded a seven percent increase when measured against data from 2015. Ten percent rise forecast for 2017, accoring to Argentine Minister of Tourism Gustavo Santos.

Alas buyover agreed on with Chilean airline LAW

Latin American Wings (LAW) and the Uruguayan company reached an agreement whereby the new owners will keep 50% of the current staff, government authorization pending. Alas Uruguay and the Chilean airline Latin American Wings (LAW) reached a “framework agreement” on Thursday as “the first step towards integration,” it was announce in Montevideo.

Latam/BA/Iberia deal questioned by Brazil´s competition regulator

Brazil's competition regulator Cade said on Monday that a deal between LATAM Airlines LAN.SN, British Airways and Iberia could have a negative impact on routes between Brazil and Europe. Chile-headquartered LATAM signed joint business agreements in January to deepen its ties with American Airlines Group and IAG's British Airways and Iberia, all members of the Oneworld Alliance.

World's largest cruise vessel, Harmony of the Seas, begins to operate from Florida

The Royal Caribbean's 226,963-ton Harmony of the Seas, on late Saturday departed on its maiden voyage out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, its new long-term home. Escorted out to sea by a flotilla of jetboard and jetpack performers, the 16-deck-high vessel set sail on a short, three-day trip that kicks off a week of welcoming events. The events include an official christening ceremony scheduled for Thursday.

Chilean group interested in Alas to meet with Uruguayan government

Chilean airline LAW (Latin American Wings) had submitted a letter of intent on Friday and now it intends to go ahead with the talks. Company representatives are expectd to arrive in Montevideo on Thursday to hold meetings with Alas Uruguay authorities and with the Transport and Public Works Minister Victor Rossi.
