  Argentina, United Kingdom and Falkland Islands representatives have agreed on a process for an additional air service to the Falklands, from either Brazil or Chile, with a target launch date of October 2017, and likewise will address scientific data exchange in relation to fish stocks in the South Atlantic, particularly regarding the migratory Illex stock.

  A bus to tour Buenos Aires' football stadiums starts operating Monday at no cost

  

  A bus tour of Buenos Aires focused solely on its most traditional football stadiums will be available starting Monday, the city's Tourism Authority announced. Under the name of “Barrios Futboleros” (Football Neighbourhoods) the new service will make stops at Boca Juniors, River Plate, San Lorenzo, Huracán and Argentinos Juniors.

  Norwegian low cost airline wants to operate in Argentina

  

  Norwegian Air Shuttle, one of the largest low cost airlines in Europe, has made the decision to start start operating in Argentina in November next year. “We have taken that decision and for that we have already taken some concrete steps to be able to fly domestic and regional routes in Argentina,” said Norwegian spokesman Alfons Claver.

  Airlines operating in Brazil allowed to charge for pax' luggage: lower fares?

  

  The Brazilian government authorized airlines operating in the country to charge for passengers luggage, among other rules that are scheduled to become effective on 14 March 2017. The new rules were approved unanimously and made public on Tuesday by the country's air transport regulator National Civil Aviation Agency, ANAC.

  The International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators (IAATO) has been recognized in a recent suite of Antarctic place names made by the United Kingdom.The place-names selected for inclusion in a place-naming theme for the pioneers of safe and environmentally responsible Antarctic tourism, includes a group of islands in the Grandidier Channel named the IAATO Islands, to reflect the organization’s role, over the past 25 years, in advocating and promoting the practice of safe and environmentally-responsible Antarctic tourism.

  LATAM Airlines to launch its longest nonstop flight ever between Santiago and Melbourne

  

  LATAM Airlines Group today announced it will operate a new, non-stop service between Santiago and Melbourne, Australia, from 5 October 2017. The westbound Santiago-Melbourne leg – measuring more than 11,000 km in distance with a flight time of approximately 15 hours – will become the longest non-stop flight in LATAM´s history.

  Plane carrying Chapecoense football team crashes on approach to Medellin

  

  A Bolivian-registered airplane carrying the football players of Brazilian team Chapecoense crashed in a mountainous area as it approached Medellin's Jose Maria Cordova international airport around Monday midnight, local time. The team was due to play the first leg of the South American Cup (the second most important club continental competition) final against Libertadores Cup holders Atlético Nacional on Wednesday. Five survivors out of 81 people on board have been reported.

  No music to mark American Airlines landing in Havana

  

  Passengers from Miami, wearing straw hats provided by American Airlines with the word “Cuba” on the back, were greeted with welcome signs in various languages, but no music as the first scheduled commercial flight from the US to Havana in more than 50 years landed Monday to the applause of passengers and a water-spraying salute from firetrucks.
