    Mexico’s oil and gas privatization process began with shallow offshore assets; the licenses are in waters off the states of Veracruz and Tabasco

    Premier Oil, with strong involvement in the development of the Falkland Islands' oil and gas industry is among the winners in the first round of Mexico’s oil and gas privatization. The two licences secured by the London listed oil firm’s consortium were the only assets successfully auctioned by the Mexican authorities.

    The brief report, 9 to 12 minutes long is aired by LRA24, the Rio Grande public radio system, AM 640 Khz, and reaches Falklands territory “with no problem”.

    The midnight and early morning news broadcasted to the Falkland Islands, (Boletin Malvinas or Argentine News Bulletin) in English, from Tierra del Fuego, has completed two years in the air and the event was celebrated by Argentina's Public media national system.

    Alexander Jacob Betts was never exposed to any danger whatsoever from other Falkland Islanders or Britain’s Armed Forces during the 1982 conflict. This has been stated by the Falklands History Group in reference to Betts, who was born in Stanley, and lived in the Islands until the end of the 1982 conflict, but who is now an Argentine citizen.

    Premier Oil Falklands' exploration budget increased given successful drilling

    2015 exploration expenditure has increased by $20m to around $240m primarily due to additional expenditure on the Isobel Deep well in the Falklands

    Premier Oil has increased its 2015 exploration budget by $20 million to account for higher investments in its drilling campaign in the Falkland Islands, the company said this week in a trading update. The company also revealed it is considering further drilling at the Isobel Deep recent discovery instead of going on to Jayne East in North Falkland.

    Almond-Bell has over 35 years’ experience in the field spanning operations in a range of countries, across a number of sectors including hydrocarbons industry.

    The Falkland Islands Government announced the appointment of Mr. Andrew Almond-Bell as the new Director of Emergency Services & Island Security. He will succeed Barry Marsden who left the Islands earlier this year.
