  Chile announces world's third largest fully protected marine area

  

  Chilean President Michelle Bachelet announced this week the creation of the Nazca-Desaventuradas Marine Park, giving Chile claim to the largest marine reserve in the Americas -- as well as the Easter Island Marine Park, which will be the third-largest fully protected marine area in the world.

  The Globe with Shakespeare's “Much ado about nothing”, in Chile, Uruguay and Brazil

  

  Thanks to an alliance between the British Embassy and Corpartes, renowned British theatre company The Globe will present William Shakespeare’s ‘Much ado about nothing’ at the Centro de las Artes 660 / CA660 in Santiago de Chile. The play will be on stage from 9 to 11 October, sponsored by the British government’s GREAT Campaign.

  Debt-overwhelmed Petrobras cuts further capital spending plans for this year and 2016

  

  Petrobras struggling with the biggest debt load among global oil firms, on Monday cut $11 billion from capital spending plans for this year and next as Brazil's currency and oil prices slump. Petrobras plans to cut 2015 investment by 11% to $25 billion from the previous $28 billion, according to a statement.

  The organisers of the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games are making cutbacks of up to 30% to avoid going over the $3.6bn dollars budget. Rio 2016 communications director Mario Andrada said the Brazilian public would not tolerate an overspend.

  OECD has proposals to cut corporate tax minimization; but much skepticism

  

  Companies should pay tax in the countries where they conduct business under new proposals intended to cut corporate tax minimization. An OECD/G20 report found laws allowing companies to shift profits to low-tax jurisdictions means that between $100bn and $240bn is lost annually. That equates to between 4% and 10% of global corporate tax revenues.

  Falklands' stand visited by Foreign Secretary Hammond and MP Rosindell
