  Falkland Islands elected lawmakers with be delivering speeches on Thursday before the United Nations Decolonization Committee as petitioners requesting C24 de-lists the Islands from the Non Self Governing Territories, upholds the Falkland Islanders right to self determination and frees them from the continuous Argentine bullying and harassment.

  Falklands after a more proactive immigration policy for controlled population increase

  

  Falkland Islands is reviewing its immigration policy and is urging a more proactive attitude with the purpose of increasing the permanent resident population and encouraging controlled growth, but this must be a discussion amongst Islanders and elected lawmakers. The Falklands according to the latest census from 2012 has a population of approximately 3.000.

  Falklands Tourist Board presented the 2015 Tourism Awards, and the winners are...

  

  Tony Mason, Chief Executive Officer of the Falkland Islands Tourist and H.E. The Governor of the Falkland Islands, Mr. Colin Roberts, presented the 2015 tourism awards on 1st April 2015. It was also a successful finale for CEO Mason who now has an even more ambitious task with the Falkland Islands Tourist Board in the United Kingdom.

  Falklands want to be good neighbors and have closer links with Latin America

  

  The Falkland Islands and its people want to be 'good neighbors, have trade links, cooperation agreements and closer relations with the southern cone of South America, but 'without losing our identity', said Falklands lawmakers to Punta Arenas Prensa Austral that was present at the celebrations last Saturday for the 250th anniversary of the first flying of the Union Flag in the Islands marking the beginning of British rule.

  Falklands' anti-Argentine flag petition collects 494 names and a lively debate

  

  A lively debate, at times impassioned took place earlier this week in the Falkland Islands during a public meeting at the Chamber of Commerce to discuss bad behavior from Argentine visitors which was described as 'disturbing and distressing” for many Islanders.

  Falklands departing flight delayed: bullets confiscated from Rio Gallegos pax

  

  The scheduled Saturday LAN flight, LA992 departing from Mount Pleasant Airport in the Falkland Islands to Chile with a call in Argentina, was delayed for an hour and a half after a total of fourteen live rounds and 95 empty casings were found in the hold and hand luggage of several passengers.

  Falklands' delegation in Canada receives full support for self determination

  

  Canada openly supported Falkland Islands' people right to self determination, backed Canadian companies working in the Islands and confirmed ongoing political and trade assurances. The message was clearly conveyed to a high level Falklands' government and private sector during their recent visit to Canadian capital Ottawa and tour of several provinces.

  Falklands' program to monitor social effects of hydrocarbons development

  

  The Falkland Islands government discussed and agreed proposals from the Policy Department on a Social Effects monitoring program in respect of hydrocarbons development, according to the report on the latest Executive Council meeting.
