    Argentine runner plans to honor Argentine and British servicemen buried in Falklands

    Scomparin's 'Link Malvinas' project includes a daily run along the most emblematic sites such as battle grounds, Fitz Roy, Mount Longdon, Darwin, San Carlos

    An Argentine amateur marathon runner plans next December to join 'Falklands emblematic sites', covering a distance of 280 kilometers in six days which will conclude the last leg linking the two cemeteries, Argentine and British “as a message of peace and dialogue”.

    Falklands' Queen's Birthday Parade to take place on Thursday 21st April

    The Parade will proceed along the usual lines, and will be followed by a march past at which His Excellency the Governor will take the Royal Salute.

    The Falkland Islands elected government has announced details of the parade to celebrate the birthday of Her Majesty the Queen to be held at Stanley's Victory Green on Thursday 21st April 2016. The parade will form up at Victory Green at 10.20 hours and His Excellency the Governor will arrive at 10.30 hours.

    Chilean company fined by Argentina after admitting operating with Falklands' license

    Apparently Juan Benegas mistakenly received an email which stated that Union Sur had obtained a Falklands' fishing license, and reported the matter.

    Argentina's Ministry of Agro-Industry has slapped the maximum fine to a Chilean fishing company, firm Empresas de Desarrollo Pesquero de Chile SA (Emdepes SA), a Chilean subsidiary of the Japanese group Nissui for illegal fishing activities in 2014 in Argentina's EEZ, close to the Falkland Islands.

    Falklands receives visit from Central American journalists

    A group of five Central American journalists, including one from Honduras, visited the Falkland Islands to learn more about the politics, economy and life in the Islands. The invitation was made by the Falkland Islands Government (FIG) and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) to media representatives from Panama (Diario La Prensa), Costa Rica (Diario El Extra), El Salvador (El Diario de Hoy), Belize (The Reporter Press), and Honduras (El Heraldo).

    Falkland Islands celebrated the 150 years of a farm in West Falkland at a ceremony held in Port Howard, honoring owners Christopher and Myles Lee that were presented with a plaque celebrating the century and a half of the farm being operational, at an historic Legislative Assembly held in the community hall last week.

    MP Rosindell blasts 'direct rule' for BOTs as 'unnecessary and unjust'

    “I feel it would be both unnecessary and unjust to impose direct rule and force BOTs to raise their tax rates”, and leaving other nations and their OTs untouched.

    A UK member of Parliament has come out strongly in support of the British Overseas Territories praising their economic success and the right of their peoples to govern and decide their own future. MP Andrew Rosindell, Chairman of the BOT and Crown Dependencies all party Parliamentary groups described suggestions from some senior figures in Westminster calling for 'direct rule' over BOT's as unnecessary and unjust, based on a complete misunderstanding of the situation.
