  Winners of the competition, Why I would like to meet my neighbors in the Falklands?

  

  The Falkland Islands Government and the British Embassies in Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay have announced the winners of this year’s regional student competition. Participants from the four countries were asked to submit a short video in English, in which they answered the question: “Why would I like to meet my neighbours in the Falkland Islands?”.

  Falklands Government confirms compassionate charter flight to Chile 19 March

  

  The Falkland Islands Government (FIG) can confirm that it intends to charter a flight to Chile from the Falkland Islands on Saturday 19 March 2022, returning Saturday 9 April 2022. The flight will only stop in both Punta Arenas and Santiago on the outbound and return journeys.

  Falklands plans to adopt the UK Port Marine Safety Code in the maritime sector

  

  The Falkland Islands government has reported it is working with partners to strengthen the existing safety management system at FIPASS, and is looking at moving towards the adoption of the UK Port Marine Safety Code to improve the standards of safety in the maritime sector. Additionally FIG has engaged with a marine consultancy to commission works to safely vent the remaining sealed ballast tanks at FIPASS.
