Falklands/Argentine fisheries scientific meetings unlikely to take place

A UK/Falklands-Argentina meeting of the South Atlantic Scientific Sub-Committee scheduled for January is “unlikely” to take place, the Falklands lawmaker MLA Teslyn Barkman told Penguin News. Falklands provides sea and air support for the search of missing Chilean aircraft

Falkland Islands based PHAROS SG, on regular deployment as a South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands fishery patrol vessel, returned on Tuesday morning to Stanley Harbour, after assisting in the search for wreckage and debris from the Chilean C130 aircraft that went missing on Monday 09 December.

Ahead of the Falkland Islands Government Executive Committee decision recently setting out new criteria for Individual Transferable Quota (ITQ) extensions from 2021 to 2046 Beauchene Fishing Co Ltd and Copemar S.A signed a new Joint Venture agreement to commence from 2021.
