  NOAA “flying laboratory” scheduled to circle St Helena Island

  

  As part of an international study to be able to deliver more accurate weather forecasts across the South Atlantic, a United States NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) “flying laboratory” is planning to operate over St Helena this coming weekend, to undertake a series of weather-related measurements.

  Falklands allows return of abandoned Argentine yacht rescued in Islands waters last October

  

  The Argentine flagged yacht “La Sanmartiniana” which was rescued in October 2015 while abandoned and adrift, by a Falkland Islands Fisheries Protection Vessel and towed to Stanley, where it has remained since waiting for claimants, has finally been released, after the Argentine group FIPCA complied with all the formalities for its recovery.

  Fire forces full passenger evacuation of Caribbean Fantasy off Puerto Rico

  

  A fire forced more than 500 people to be evacuated from a cruise ship about a mile off Puerto Rico's northern coast on Wednesday. The U.S. Coast Guard brought passengers to the shore as the fire continued to burn aboard the Caribbean Fantasy, a combination cruise and ferry ship. Other agencies also joined the rescue effort until fire forced them to abandon the ship.

  Chinese woman falls overboard from cruise vessel and is rescued 38 hours later

  

  Chinese woman who fell off a cruise ship and drifted at sea for 38 hours before being rescued by fishermen has lived to tell the tale. The woman from Shanghai, known only by her surname Fan, leaned too far forward from a ship deck and fell overboard, according to Chinese media.

  British Airways cuts its food service on flights less than eight and a half hours

  

  British Airways has cut its food service and will no longer provide two meals to economy travelers on flights lasting less than eight-and-a-half hours. Instead of two full meals, passengers will only receive one as part of the new measures, which also apply to journeys lasting less seven hours for premium economy passengers.
