  “Harmony of the Seas” tragic accident during a security drill in Marseille

  

  One person has been killed and four others left seriously injured in Marseille after an accident on board the Harmony of the Seas, the world's largest cruise liner. The fatal accident comes just three months after the cruise liner hit the high seas for its much-hyped inaugural voyage. The victim was from the Philippines and was aged 42-years-old. The other victims were three Filipinos and an Indian man.

  Argentina promises 'respectful' cooperation over Falkland Islands

  

  The Guardian's diplomatic editor Patrick Wintour caught up with Argentine foreign minister Susana Malcorra in London and interviewed her on UK-Argentina relations and the Falklands/Malvinas dispute. Ms Malcorra said Argentina wants to end the era of confrontation over the South Atlantic islands.

  Falkland Islands Holdings declares lower profitability; plans name change

  

  Falkland Islands Holdings PLC on Thursday tabled plans to change its name to FIH Group PLC, as it said profitability in the first five months of its financial year was at a lower level than the prior year. Falkland Islands Holdings, which owns services businesses based in the UK and the Falkland Islands, said it will change its name to FIH Group, subject to shareholder approval, to “more properly reflect the balance of the group's activities”. Its activities are now predominantly in the UK and Europe.

  Carnival Vista causes devastation in a Messina marina sinking small vessels

  

  A giant cruise ship in Italy has left devastation in its wake after destroying a pier and sinking small vessels as it pulled away from shore. The Carnival Vista was just meters from its berth in Messina, Sicily when the prop wash from its thrusters caused a wild set of waves to topple a boat pier.
